What we do
Our Scouts meet every Friday night during term time between 8.15 and 9.45pm. We have around 30 scouts as part of our troop, ranging between the ages of 10 and 14 years old.
Scouts can take part in activities as diverse as kayaking, abseiling, expeditions overseas, photography, climbing and zorbing. As a Scout you can learn survival skills, first aid, computer programming, or even how to fly a plane. There’s something for every young person. It’s a great way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express your creativity and experience the wider world.
“I come to Scouts because it is somewhere all my friends come to. We have fun playing games and doing activities, especially at camp – camps are amazing!”
In our troop, the programme is strongly based around encouraging the Scouts to develop responsibility, and to equip them with the skills to become well rounded young people.
Our Scouts also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of our various camps throughout the year – the picture above was taken in summer 2014 when we went to Windsor International Guides and Scouts camp!
